Shree Murthy was a graduate student in Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received her B.S. degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University, Bangalore , India in 1990. In July of 1993 she graduated with an M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. She received her Masters and PhD in Computer Engineering in June 1994 and August 1996 from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

She is currently with the DSBU of Cisco Systems where she is involved in the design and development of low-cost switching solutions. Prior to joining Cisco, she was with Sun Microsystems where she was involved in the design and development of advanced switching products.

She was part of the Computer Communications Research Group headed by her advisor J.J. Garcia-Luna-Aceves. She was also with Sun Labs, High-Speed Networking Group from Sept. 95 through August 96.
