Language is ubiquitous. You cannot escape it. Virtually every single human uses a language. In fact, it can be argued that humans are so driven to use language that even people who cannot hear have invented languages that are represented through the eyes instead of the through the ears.
What gives humans their unique ability to use language? What differentiates human language from other forms of animal communication? How does the brain process language? Why is it so darn important, anyway?
